Send me the serial # and I can date them for you or purchase the standard catalog of smith & wesson. No mention of a “Pinkerton Model” in my Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (3rd Ed). According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, your Chief's Special was made 1975 - 1976. (According to my Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson only about 10, 270 of these pistols were built.)
